A Contemporary Study in “the Way, the Truth, and the Life”

In this first century of the third millennium, we may struggle to find modern relevance in the seemingly ancient teachings of Jesus Christ. This struggle is compounded by all of today’s competing interpretations and opinions of what Jesus “really meant,” especially when each of the multitude of voices claims his or her interpretation is the “right” one.

If we accept that Jesus’ words are living teachings, that they have modern relevance to us collectively and individually, that we can hear and work to understand His words willingly without spin, that we can allow ourselves to ponder His wisdom in our minds and express His goodness through our actions, we will become the “pure in heart, for [we] will see God” (Matthew 5:8).

Through the book “His Living Teachings Support My Modern Life,” I claim nothing other than the truth that God is present in my life, supporting me in numerous magnificent ways. My prayer is that you may use these passages simply as examples to encourage the teachings to live through you uniquely, exploring for yourself how they have personal relevance, yet in complete alignment with God’s grace for us all.
